About Alexandra Heights Motel

A bit about the Alexandra Heights Motel and your Host Nicola.

My name is Nicola, and I would love to welcome you to stay at our Motel in central Alexandra, I look forward to personally greeting you on your stay. I really enjoy chatting with guests and finding out about their trips, we often have a good bit of banter.

I have been running the Motel for four years now and the time has flown by. My background is as a travel agent for 16 years before I became a motelier. As a travel agent, most of my work was in the office. The telephone would ring and we'd have to make reservations for someone travelling on business or taking their family on vacation. After 16 years It was time for a change, so I decided to take on my own accommodation, to offer great stays myself.

The Alexandra Heights Motel is run by myself and my small team. I have been running the motel for 4 years and have loved getting to know our regular travellers, my team are very helpful and go out of their way to help the guests, and keep our rooms wonderfully clean. We are a team of locals so we can give you the best advice on the must-do things when visiting Alexandra.

I stay on-site with my two dogs, Polly and Max. I take walks with my two dogs every morning. I enjoy being able to spend time with them out in Alex, the town is full of friendly folk who smile when you pass.

I genuinely believe that Alexandra is the perfect place to stay for a central Otago summer holiday, It's not just the beautiful towering mountains and natural undulating landscape. It's that it is just the whole package. It's a great place to base yourself be it for work or a vacation. We are surrounded by amazing wineries, restaurants and of course all of the new local cycle tracks and walks. So you're sure to find something to keep you entertained.

Things to do include walking or bike riding the trails, doctors point, river track, the Otago Rail Trail, the new track Clyde to Bannockburn, curling on the ice rink in the winter. A trip to Queenstown for shopping and skiing or snowboarding in winter is a must. Golf, fishing, white water rafting or a jet boat ride on the upper Shotover. There is so much that Alexandra and Central Otago has to offer.

Some of the must visit events in Alexandra are:

The Blossom Festival in September

The Merino shears in October

The Easter Beer Festival

The Summer Horse Racing

I have a real passion for hospitality and tourism and would like to thank you for your considering of stay with us at Alexandra Heights motel.
